Today we are talking with Hahna Alexander, CEO of SolePower. She started it as a student project at Carnegie Mellon and now SolePower is partnering with the US Army R&D division to create a self-sustaining data collection and power source for soldiers. The patented kinetic energy technology is being developed as a lightweight solution that creates power as boots strike the ground.
I’ve known her since we were both students at Carnegie Mellon and it’s been amazing to see her grow this badass company. We talk about how product vision evolves over time, finding mentors & building an advisory board, and how to blaze your own trail in a male-dominated industry.
